Center Update 3-16-2020
We miss you!! We hope all of you are well, self-isolating, and not getting cabin fever. Staff have been busy working to deliver lunches, answer the phones, check in to see how you’re doing, and keep the Center running. Our hands are cracked from washing them so often, but we want to stay well so we can keep doing what we do best — taking care of Vashon seniors.
Our volunteer pool has grown overnight. We are partnering with Women Hold the Key, a local women’s organization founded by Tina Shattuck, to check in with our members. Need lunch delivered? Need groceries? Need medications? Need to talk to someone besides the dog? They will be reaching out over the next few days to let us know what you need. We are extremely grateful for this partnership.
We have ZOOM!! For those of you not familiar, ZOOM is an online meeting tool. Our board president, Liz Illg, is stuck at home, working on becoming our resident expert, and will be helping set up online activities so you can have something to do while we remain closed. More info on that coming soon.
